Catechesis is the continual instruction in the Christian faith. The word derives from Greek and it is related to teaching by word of mouth. One of the primary resources for this instruction is found in the Small Catechism, as it contains a summary of Biblical teaching. The Small Catechism plays a vital role in Confirmation, which is a public affirmation of the faith that has been given by God’s Word.
We also see Christian instruction to be an important part of this life together as we are built up by the Word of God through in depth study.
